After the great news that Sony brought to us, the A9, I found it difficult that soon they would bring something that caught my attention, because they did it again with the Sony Alpha A7 Mark III.
Sony Alpha A7 Mark III
The Sony Alpha A7 Mark III is the newest model of the brand’s mirrorless level camera, and is considered Sony’s entry-level Full frame.
With a 24 megapixel sensor, built-in stabilization in the 10fps continuous shooting body and the ability to shoot in 4k, this beauty is a killer! Announced in February 2018, the Sony Alpha A7 Mark III maintained the resolution of its previous sister, but brought a smell packet of novelties very welcome in this new version.
New autofocus system, the same as Sony A9, is perhaps the big icing on the Sony Alpha A7 Mark III, with greater coverage and better density.
The autofocus speed is also something to be commented on here, it is impressive, with face and eyes detection that work more than perfectly for any situation.
Things like connectivity and better ISO sensitivity complete the package of upgrades made on the Sony Alpha A7 Mark III that is already being christened by users of Baby A9. The A7 III’s 24 megapixel full frame sensor is now of the BIS (back illuminated sensor) type which helps with ISO sensitivity and also in increasing the dynamic range.
It is stabilized in the body itself, 5 axes of nationalization, and this helps a lot to take clearer photos and movies, without those annoying shakes .
Using the same phase detection matrix as the A9, the Sony Alpha A7 Mk III only loses in shooting speed for its ultra fast sister that can do up to 20 FPS. Its 693 point of focus is more than enough for any type of scene, and has 425 points of contrast detection, so taking pictures out of focus is practically a thing of the past.
Both in mechanical or electronic shooting you will be able to take up to 10 images per second, not as fast as the A9 but it is already better than most cameras on the market.
The buffer supports up to 177 JPEG images and can also capture RAW images with 14 bits, serious chat for an input camera.
Connectivity and controls are not lacking in the Sony Alpha A7 Mark III, in addition to a much improved layout compared to the A7II, the A7 III has gained some improvements.
Highlights are the inclusion of the joystick, AF-ON button and USB-C and USB-mini inputs.
In addition to having an HDMI output and a headset, it also has a PC-Sync port and microphone input.
If you think about taking a camera like this to film you will not go hungry either, as it can do the job.
Being able to shoot in 4k with the full frame sensor or in Super 35, with 30 or 24 fps respectively, she is able to get her ideas off the ground. The highlight is on account of 120 frames per second when working 1080. Just as in other models of the brand are also available S-log 2 and 3.
All of this can now be placed on 2 SD card, which all cameras should have in my opinion.
If you think that little I don’t really know what camera you’re looking for! Even one of the shares that Sony always complains about, the lack of top-of-the-line lenses, has been resolved by the brand at a much greater speed than that of its competitors.
And even if you are a Canon camera user you can keep your lenses, because with the Sigma adapter Canon lenses work perfectly on the Sony Alpha A7 Mark III.
As it is what the brand considers an entry model, at least in terms of full frame, I can say that I am impressed. And with the speed of the market, speaking of Sony and other brands, we will soon see established brands scratching even more to stay current.
And then who ever took a Sony in hand? What do you think? Who will switch to Sony? Leave it in the comments.
